The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Predictions β€” With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.

The first season presents a diverse group of personalities residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "However I feel like me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs β€” but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season β€” particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
