An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later discharged.
Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
